TIM CZMOWSKI
South Dakota House, District 6
“45 years building jobs, businesses, and communities in South Dakota. Now I'm putting that same work ethic to work for District 6.”
TIM CZMOWSKI
PRACTICAL LEADERSHIP. SOUTH DAKOTA VALUES.
A RECORD THAT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF
Tim Czmowski grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work and the people who do it. He earned his degree in Dairy Science Manufacturing from South Dakota State University and has spent the 45 years since building some of the most significant agriculture and food manufacturing enterprises in the Upper Midwest.
From his early days at Valley Queen Cheese in Milbank to leading three-plant operations processing 15 million pounds of milk daily as Vice-President at Agropur, Tim has always been someone who shows up, does the work, and delivers results. He helped grow the I-29 dairy corridor into a regional economic engine attracting investment, creating hundreds of jobs, and putting South Dakota products on tables in over 20 countries.
Tim also served 10 years in the South Dakota Army National Guard, where he was named Battalion Soldier of the Year. He served five years on the Milbank City Council, including as Vice-President, and was a member of Governor Daugaard's Agriculture Advisory Committee for eight years.
Today, Tim runs CheeseWorld LLC — a consulting and retail cheese business based in Sioux Falls and serves as your State Representative for District 6, appointed by Governor Larry Rhoden in 2025.
Tim and his wife Patty have four adult children and four grandchildren. They are active in their church and community, and proud to call South Dakota home.
A Lifetime of Work. A Voice for District 6
Tim doesn't just talk about what South Dakota should be
he's spent 45 years helping build it.
Here's what he'll fight for in Pierre.
South Dakota should grow its way to a stronger tax base — not tax its way to growth. That means attracting manufacturing investment, expanding the agricultural economy, and creating good-paying jobs that keep families here.
"South Dakota's strength is its people and its industries. When we invest in manufacturing and agriculture, we create jobs, lower the tax burden, and give the next generation a reason to stay."
Lower Taxes Through
Economic Development
South Dakotans have always known how to take care of themselves, their families, and their neighbors. Government should protect that freedom — not erode it. Tim believes in personal responsibility and keeping Pierre out of decisions that belong to the people.
"The government that governs least governs best. I will always stand on the side of individual freedom and personal responsibility."
Preserving Individual Freedom
Strong families are the foundation of strong communities. That means policies that respect parents, support faith communities, and create an environment where the next generation wants to build a life right here in South Dakota.
"Every bill I consider, I ask one question: does this make South Dakota a better place for families to put down roots? If the answer is no, I'm a no."
Supporting South Dakota Families
Tim has managed multimillion-dollar budgets and built businesses from the ground up. He knows that every dollar has to count. Responsible stewardship of public money isn't optional, it's an obligation to the taxpayers of District 6.
"I've signed the front of a lot of paychecks. I know what it means to be accountable for every dollar. That's exactly how I approach public spending."
Ensuring Responsible Spending
The people closest to a problem are almost always best equipped to solve it. Tim will always champion the right of local governments, school boards, and communities to make their own decisions — without one-size-fits-all mandates from Pierre.
"The people of District 6 know their communities. I trust them to make the right decisions for their families and their neighbors — and I'll fight to protect that right in Pierre."
Protecting Local Control
Agriculture is South Dakota's backbone and Tim has spent his entire career strengthening it. From building new cheese plants along the I-29 corridor to consulting on dairy expansion projects across the region, Tim knows how to attract investment and create lasting rural jobs.
"I've spent 45 years helping grow South Dakota's agricultural economy. That work doesn't stop when I walk into the Capitol."
